DescriptionPlants and vines grow in urns on the pillars at the foot of steps leading up to a porch supported by Ionic columns. Additional plants are in hanging pots on the porich. Shurbs and ferns grown beside the house in a narrow strip of grassy lawn. The frame house had clapboard siding and louvered shutters.

Hamersley (Bill Hamersley) was born in 1887 and died of influenza in 1918. He was an alumnus of Trinity College and Harvard Law school. He was married to Emily Brace Collins for two years before he died and the couple had one child, Jane Hamersley Wright. The house in this photograph belonged to John Allen, who would have been Bill Hamersley's grandfather.
