DescriptionReproduction of a portrait painting of a man in military uniform. His facial hair consists of a mustache and strip of hair down the center of his chin in what may possibly be a Napoleon III Imperial style. The subject's uniform is decorated with military medals and he wears a sash across his chest. His belt buckle has some kind of insignia on it. The painting is signed in the lower left corner and part of the artist's name is missing because the plate is broken. As it is, it reads, "Aug. Franze[n]." The canvas is unframed and behind it, wallpaper is visible.
