DescriptionA stream runs through a broad valley. Open fields, some with young trees in them, are on both sides of the stream. Dense forest covers the hills in the foreground and background. A few buildings, probably houses with farm buildings, are visible in the background.

Clark no date"NotesSubject Note: The Metropolitan District Commission began to buy land for the reservoir in Barkhamsted and Hartland in 1927. The MDC then stripped the land of lumber and buildings and began constructing a dam, which was completed in 1940. The reservoir was full by 1948. This photograph is purported to show some of the area that was flooded. (Finlay 8/25/2011)
