DescriptionChild's mittens, knitted in stockinette stitch in natural-colored wool yarn, with bands of designs in red, green, and black. Around the wrist is knitted in red yarn the name "Clara. B. Barrows." Above this is a band of apple trees, then red and black roosters, then red rosebuds, then gray and black striped cats (the gray yarn was originally purple), then red and black birds, and then a design of green circles with a red slash in the center. Three conjoined red hearts decorate the rounded shaping of the top of the mittens. The thumbs are knitted with rosebuds and apple trees. The wrist band is green with red diagonal stripes.

There are fourteen stitches to the inch and sixteen rounds to the inch.
