DescriptionMatching vest (.a) and jodphurs (.b) of plain-woven, natural-colored linen. The vest is long, with princess seaming, a back vent with a functioning button, and turned-over collar and lapels. The vest closes at center front with two tan plastic buttons. There is a slanted pocket over each hip. The vest is unlined; all seams are bound with twill-woven cotton tape.
The knee-length jodphurs are cut with extra fullness at the top of the thigh. They have a fall front and are cut to fit at the waist without a waistband. Five narrow loops accomodate a belt. A 21-inch long dart is stitched from the waist edge down the back of each leg. An extra layer of linen is stitched in arch-shaped patches inside the legs to provide extra protection from chafing and wear on the seam. The jodphurs button with four tan plastic buttons on either side of the fall, and with seven smaller buttons at the knees. The waist edge is lined with a strip of plain-woven cotton.
