DescriptionWoman's day dress of brown silk, with woven stripe in coral pink and white. The dress bodice is styled with fan pleating from the center front opening edges, over the shoulders. The opening functions with brass hooks and eyes, and has decorative thread-covered buttons along both edges. The pleated drapery is trimmed with brown braid with dark brown silk pompoms. Underneath the drapery, the bodice is fitted with two 8 1/4-inch diagonal darts on either side of the opening. The bell sleeves are pleated into the lowered armscye seam. They are trimmed with two rows of the pompom braid around the opening edge and with a 3 1/2-inch tab of the same at the top of the sleeve. The neckline is high and round, and the waistline is pointed at center front and center back. The center back point is decorated with two decorative buttons. The bodice is lined with brown glazed cotton. The darts, the side seam, and the center back are boned.
The skirt is cartridge-pleated to the brown glazed cotton waistband, which is then stitched to the bottom of the bodice. The skirt is fully lined with dark brown glazed cotton. The bottom edge is finished with brown twill-woven wool tape. There is an in-seam pocket on the right side.
