DescriptionWoman's day dress of maroon, black, and dark green plaid silk. The neckline is high and round, the shoulderline is dropped, and the waistline is round. The bell sleeves are trimmed with green silk fringe around the opening. The tops of the sleeves are trimmed with two gathered bands of self-fabric. The bodice front and back are pleated into a yoke across the shoulders. The neckline edge and armscye seams are piped. The waist is circumscribed by a 1 1/2-inch-wide waistband. The bodice is lined with brown twill-woven cotton, which is darted in the front for fit; darts are boned, as were the side seams, originally. The dress closes at center front with brass hooks and eyes.

The skirt is cartridge-pleated to the waistband. It is entirely lined with brown, plain-woven cotton. The hem edge is finished with green twill-woven wool tape. There is an in-seam pocket on the right side.
