DescriptionWoman's dress, possibly for warm weather day wear, made of creamy yellow wool-silk fabric, printed with motifs of red roses and green leaves under an angular black design. The neckline is wide, and bordered with four pleats. A U-shaped tab is stitched at the center front of the neckline; the bottom of the tab is embellished with a self-fabric rosette centered with a silk-covered disk. Two more rosettes are stitched down the center front of the bodice. The bodice is fitted with two diagonal darts beginning at either side of the center front waistline. The short sleeves are smooth and tight at the top of the arm, finished with a short, box-pleated ruffle, with a piped band at the top. The dress closes at the center back with brass hooks and eyes. Curved side back seams are simulated with piped bias strips. Piped tabs cover the shoulder seams. The neckline and armscyes are piped. The bodice and sleeves are lined with plain-woven white cotton, and the bodice is padded in the bust area with wool wadding.
The bodice ends in a narrow waistband. The skirt is cartridge-pleated to the bottom of the waistband. The bottom of the skirt is lined with plain-woven cotton for 8 1/4 inches.
