DescriptionPaper advertising fan printed in blue ink on recto with images of the Columbia Bicycle Factory, their Tube Works, Rubber Tire Works, Tube Mills, and the Hartford Cycle Co. and on the verso with images of fashionable young women and men on bicycles. The paper is mounted on a wood (possibly bamboo?) frame and the ends are attached with pieces of string. The wood pieces are held together with a piece of steel wire.

MarkingsPrinted in blue ink (on recto): "COLUMBIA BICYCLES ARE THE STANDARD OF THE WORLD./In the city of Hartford, Conn, the factories for the making of Columbia Bicycles and the cheaper, yet reliable, Hartford Bicycles/ sold by the Pope Manufac/turing Co., extend along the line of the New York, New Haven and/ Hartford Railroad for alomost a mile. The actual floor space devoted to/ making and shipping Columbia and Hartford Bicycles is upward of 15."

Printed in blue ink (on verso): "COLUMBIA BICYCLES ARE THE STANDARD OF THE WORLD."
