DescriptionA rectangular cardboard box (.a) and lid (.b) covered with a glossy white paper. The paper on the lid is slightly off color from the box. A paper label on the top of the box lid is printed in a gold ink and reads, "IMPROVED / SEIDLITZ POWDERS. / These Powders are prepared expressly for the / Retail Trade, from superior materials, and / are warranted full weight. / DIRECTIONS. / Dissolve the contents of one of the Blue papers in a large tumbler three parts / filled with COLD WATER, and the contents of one of the White papers in another tumbler, / one-fourth filled with water; mix the two together, and drink while in a state of effervescence. / PREPARED BY / McNARY AND BUCK, / DRUGGISTS AND APOTHECARIES, / 18 State Street, Hartford, Conn., / SIGN OF THE 'GOOD SAMARITAN.' “The bottom of the box is covered with a piece of blue paper.
