DescriptionAt the left, a man is transferring shellfish, probably oysters or clams, from a floating pound into wooden boxes. A second man stands on a dock at the right. Also on the dock are two barrels of shellfish, a coil of rope, a broom, a basket, a rake, a small building, and a block and tackle attached to a long pole. A cat lies in the right foreground. Two rowboats are tied to the dock. Two larger boats, one of them a sailboat, are in the harbor beyond.
