George Wyllys
American, 1710 - 1796
Biography: George Wyllys was the son of Hezekiah Wyllys (1672-1741) and the grandson of Governor George Wyllys (1710-1796) of Connecticut. He lived in the Wyllys Mansion on Charter Oak Place in Hartford, Connecticut. Three generations of the Wyllys family were all secretaries of the colony/state of Connecticut, effectively monopolizing the office from 1712 to 1809: Hezekiah Wyllys (1672-1741); his son, George Wyllys (1710-1796); and his grandson, Samuel Wyllys (1738-1823).
