American, 1790 - 1846
Biography: Asa Roath was born on 3 March 1790. As a young man, he worked as a teacher in Norwich, Connecticut. He subsequently became a surveyor and served for many years as county surveyor for New London County. He also served as a probate judge and was Colonel of the Third Regiment of State Militia, taking part in the defense of the New London district during the War of 1812. He died on 11 March 1846.
