Biography: Julius Gay was born in Farmington, Connecticut on 15 February 1834. He graduated from Yale, where he studied engineering. Upon graduation, he returned to Farmington and went to work for the Farmington Savings Bank. He was president of the bank when he died on 2 May 1918. He was also well known as an antiquarian and amateur historian and was the author of many pamphlets.
