Reverend Ashbel Baldwin
American, 1757 - 1846
Biography: Ashbel Baldwin was born 7 March 1757 in Litchfield, Connecticut. He was the third child of Isaac Baldwin and Ann Collins Baldwin. He graduated from Yale College in 1776. He served in the Revelutionary Army from 1777 to 1778 as a quartermaster of arms in Litchfield. In 1785 he was ordained as a deacon and then as a priest in the Episcopal Church. Reverend Baldwin married Clarissa Johnson (1761-1823) of Guilford, Connecticut. He died 8 February 1846 in Rochester, New York.
