Description: A young child, probably a boy, sits on a bed or couch. He wears a loose-fitting nightshirt, which is falling off his shoulders. A string of beads or pearls is around his neck. In his right hand, he holds a large gold-topped cane with a cord strung through the top. In his left, hand he holds a doll wearing a coat and hat.
Inscription: On recto, lithographed title beneath image, "GRAND PAPA'S CANE. / 470." On verso, in pencil: upper left, "65946 [crossed out]" "Box 31 / #5" "1958-38-4"; lower right, "Dwr 20 [crossed out] 60" "consv CPC 1987" and accession number.
