Description: Two photographs taken on December 10, 1944, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the discovery of anesthesia by the Hartford dentist Horace Wells. The first photograph is of those attending the wreath placing ceremony on the grave of Horace Wells (see notes for names of those in first photograph). The second photograph is a close-up of the grave of Horace Wells with the wreath placed in front of it.
