Description: Screen print based on a drawing of the former Hall High School building (now Town Hall) in West Hartford, Connecticut. The building features a portico with six columns and the name of the school inscribed on the horizontal surface above it, steps leading up to the front entrance, and quoins on the corners. Trees and bushes are depicted on either side of the steps.
Date Note: Hall High School was moved from the building depicted here to its new location in 1970. Richard Welling's studio location was at 74 Union Place from 1982 until his death in 2009. It is likely that the drawing that this print is based on was made before 1970, but the print could have been made any time after 1982 (or whenever Welling had the stamp made).
Inscription: Recto, bottom, handwritten in pencil: "W.H. HALL HIGH SCHOOL, W.HTFD, CT. (OLD BUILDING)"
Object Number: 2012.284.4868
