Subject Note: The church in the drawing is in Boston. "City Church" appeared in Mitchell's one-man exhibition at Western New England College Art Gallery in 1987 and at theJohn Slade Ely House Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1981. From the artist's catalog. Clifford Mitchell was an architect as well as artist, so images of buildings figure frequently in his artwork.
