Description: Three men and four women standing on a wooden platform outside of a train car. There is a fourth man, probably the car attendant, sticking his head out of the window.
Subject Note: The people in the photograph are identified as follows, from left to right: Samuel Thorne, William V.S. Thorne, Smith M. West, Margaret B. Thorne, Phebe V.S. Thorne, Mrs. Stuart Kennedy. J.J. Hill, who is referenced in an inscription on the verso as the owner of the railroad car, was probably James J. Hill, the railroad executive.
