Description: View of a city on a river. A man and a woman stand on a hillside in the right foreground. A man, a woman, and a small girl are near two barrels and a package on the shore below. Two small vessels are nearby. One boat has a sail and a flag with a double eagle on it. Additional boats, including a steamboat, are on the river in the background. The city is beyond, on the right bank of the river, surrounded by a wall or dike. Buildings include several churches and a large Gothic cathedral.
Inscription: On recto, lithographed title beneath image, "COLOGNE. / PRUSSIA. / 571." In pencil, lower left, "PRINT DRAWER 24 #4". On verso, in pencil: upper left, old accession number; upper right, "Box 27 / #8"; lower right, "Consv CPC 1987" "Dwr 24" and new accession number.
