Description: George Washington, a man wearing a military uniform consisting of a coat with epaulets, a vest, breeches, and boots, stands beside a horse. He holds a hat in his right hand. His left hand rests on the the horse, which wears a saddle and bridle. A broken cannon carriage and cannon are at the left. A cannon ball is on the ground nearby. A lake, a cluster of conical tents, and a hill or mountain are in the left background.
Inscription: On recto, lithographed title beneath image, "WASHINGTON. / 157". On verso, in pencil: lower left, "71 A" "Neg # 2154"; lower right, "Dwr #57" and accession number.
