Description: A drawing of two men wearing hats and coats stand outside looking over a group of sheep. One of the men holds a cane, and there is a tree off to the right. There is a town in the distance with several buidings, including what look like houses, two churches, and a mill.
Use Note: Original drawing number 51 of a series of 53 done for G. Fox & Co.'s 100th Anniversary. The drawings appeared in The Hartford Courant as full size advertisements on Sundays from December 29, 1946 to December 29, 1947. The drawing was later published in a book: G. Fox & Co. A Century in Connecticut. Hartford, 1948, p.51.
Inscription: Inscribed in pencil at upper marking, and in ink in lower left margin, "America's first model woolen mill town, / Humphreysville, Connecticut: 1806".
