Description: A drawing of a scene in a shop. A man stands behind a counter showing spoons to a woman wearing a bonnet. Some spoons are laid out on the counter, and there are more on display on the wall behind him. A set of scales are on the back counter. A window to the left shows the Old State House, a wagon on the street, and people walking.
Use Note: Original drawing number 4 of a series of 53 done for G. Fox & Co.'s 100th Anniversary. The drawings appeared in The Hartford Courant as full size advertisements on Sundays from December 29, 1946 to December 29, 1947. The drawing was later published in a book: G. Fox & Co. A Century in Connecticut. Hartford, 1948, p.4.
Inscription: Inscribed in ink, along lower margin, "William Rogers developed sliver plating: 1847".
