Description: Plans for a two story house with a cellar and attic. The house has a shingled roof, brick window sills and two chimneys with flashing. There is a brick wall surrounding a courtyard with trelliswork which comes off the kitchen. On the front of the house is a porch roof supported by wooden brackets and with a stucco panel. There is also a wrought iron railing on the front steps. The drawings include front, north, west, and south elevations, and floor plans for a cellar, first floor, second floor, and attic, The cellar plan has a laundry room with a clothes chute and a floor drain, and a cold room. The first floor plan includes a garage, kitchen, dining room, butler's pantry, hall, porch, living room, closets, and a sun parlor. The second floor has a spare room, 3 baths, a maid's chamber, closets, hall, dressing room, sitting room, 2 guest chambers (bedrooms), and a sleeping porch. The attic is unfinished with one closet.
This set of drawings also includes 1999.100.189.3 and 1999.100.189.10-16 which were not digitized. These drawings include a detail of the dining room, sections through the garage, a detail of the vestibule, detail of the wainscot in the hall, revised elevations of the windows, and 1/2 scale details of several rooms in the house.
Inscription: 1999.100.189.1: In black ink, upper center, "RESIDENCE FOR MR. D. A. HARRINGTON" Accession numbers are noted on verso of all drawings, lower right in pencil. All drawings include dimensions in black and orange ink.
