Description: Plans for a two and a half story house with clapboard siding. The house has two dormers with windows and a front porch with trellis work. The drawings include front, south, north, and east elevations. The cellar has a laundry, stairwell, cold room and coal room. The first floor has a veranda, stairwell, living room, dining room, kitchen, hall, porch, butler's pantry, and closets. The second floor has a den, bath, balcony, closets, stairwell, and three chambers (bedrooms). The attic has storage, closets, bath, and two chambers (bedrooms).
Subject Note: 192 Whitney Street and 196 Whitney Street have the same cellar and first floor plans. 1999.100.78.5 and 1999.100.78.6 (catalogued as part of 196 Whitney Street) apply to both houses. The drawings state the house is on North Whitney Street, but the current address is 192 Whitney Street.
Inscription: 1999.10.78.9-.14: In pencil, upper center, " HOUSE FOR L.W. SLOCUN" upper right in blue ink, "WILLIAM T MARCHANT / ARCHITECT/ HARTFORD, CONN" upper right in pencil "No. Whitney," right side "A.D. Brainard and third house. Missing Plans same as #93." Accession numbers are noted on verso of all drawings, lower right, in pencil. All drawings include dimensions in black with some orange lines.
