Description: Plans for a two and one half story Colonial Revival house and a connnecting two-story garage. The shingle-sided house features insterecting gambrel roofs, with large butting row dormers on the second floor. Additional features include a copper roofed entry portico, and copper gutters. The shingle-sided garage features a gable roof, paneled carriage doors, and a picket fenced enclosure connecting it to the main house. Windows are primarily double hung lourved sash windows, in either the eight-over-eight, or six-over-six configuration. Also featured windows are, round paned windows on the second floor of the garage, as well as a large tri-part window on the South Elevation. Seven drawings are included in the set: Basement, First Floor, Second Floor, and Third Floor plans, as well as East, Front (West,) and combined North / South Elevations. The basement plans include: store room, boiler coal room, vegetable room, range coal room, toilet, laundry, as well as the laundry yard, and garage foundations. The first floor plans include: library, living room with large fireplace, plant room, enclosed verandah, entry porch and vestibule, dining room with fireplace, toilet, butler's pantry, pantry, kitchen with alcove, side porch, kitchen yard, garage. The second floor plans include: two chambers with fireplaces, dressing room, two bath rooms, hall, chamber with ensuite bath, two maids rooms, and trap door featured in garage. The third floor plans include: stairs to third floor (open) space.
Subject Note: Drawing set is an early draft. Drawings contain many details about interior and exterior finishes; e.g. oak floors, architectural ceilings, plaster walls, copper gutters, copper entry portico, earth floor in basement, etc.
Inscription: All drawings have accession numbers handwritten in pencil on verso, lower right. All drawings have architectural dimensions and notes in black ink and/or pencil. Drawing 1976.18.179.1 contains handwritten in pencil or black ink a crude sketch in center of drawing, as well as visibly erased areas, drawing also includes handwritten in black ink: "SECTION THRU / WALL SCALE 1/2 IN = 1 FOOT." Drawing 1976.18.179.2 contains handwritten in pencil a light sketching of walls, drawing also includes handwritten in black ink: "SECTION SHOWING FRAMING OF ROOF / SACLE 1/2 IN = 1 FOOT." Drawing 1976.18.179.3 contains handwritten in pencil "USE IN MAIDS BATH," in area of dressing room, as well as visibly erased and redrawn walls. Drawing 1976.18.179.4 contains handwritten in pencil sketches to the left of the margin. Drawing 1976.18.179.5 contains handwritten in pencil "RAD COVER" with arrow in area of living room, "OMIT ON NEW PLANS" in area of dining room, "OK" in area of butler's pantry, "Gl." in area of pantry, as well as areas where names of room were visibly erased and redrawn. Drawing 1976.18.179.7 contains handwritten in pencil a rough sketching below tri-part window on south elevation drawing, drawing also includes handwritten in black ink: "SCALE 1/4" = 1'-0""
