Cincinnatus Anthony Taft M.D.

Dr. Cincinnatus A. Taft was born in Dedham, Massachusetts in 1822. He was a graduate of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New York in 1846. Dr. Taft settled in Hartford that same year as a homeopathic doctor and served as Mark Twain's family physician until his death.Dr. Taft was married in 1854 to Ellen T. Clark, daughter of Eza Clark. Dr. Taft died on June 26, 1884 at the age of 62. During his autopsy, it was discovered that he had digestional issues and died of starvation.
