John S. Lester

John S. Lester was born in December 1835. He lived for most of his life in Woodstock, Connecticut, where he was active as a civil engineer. He enlisted in the Eleventh Connecticut Volunteer Infantry in 1861 and mustered out on 11 May 1863 with the rank of Second Lieutenant. The 1900 Federal Census shows him living at the Fitch Home for Soldiers in Darien, Connecticut. He died on 31 March 1910 and is buried in Darien.
