Theodore G. Ellis

Theodore G. Ellis was born in Boston on 25 September 1829. He came to Connecticut in 1854 as a surveyor for the Hartford, Providence and Fishkill Railroad. He served as an officer in the Fourteenth Connecticut Volunteer Infantry from 1862 to 1865, achieving the rank of Brigadier General. He returned to Hartford and continued to work as a civil engineer. He died on 8 January 1883.
