Samuel D. Tilden

Samuel D. Tilden was born on 28 July 1828. He was a partner in Baker & Tilden, map publishers who were active in New York in the 1850s and who appear in the Hartford, Connecticut city directory in 1869. By 1870, Tilden was living in Colchester. He later returned to Hartford and died there on 13 July 1893.
