John BevanAmerican, born about 1820
John Bevan was a civil who made dozens of town maps between 1850 and 1860, including maps of towns in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. He was City Surveyor for Jersey City, New Jersey in the 1850s; in the 1870 Federal Census he is listed as the City Surveyor for the city of Richmond, on Staten Island, New York. He was apparently born in England, about 1820.
