Huldah Ely

Huldah Ely was the youngest child of the Reverend Richard Ely and Jerusha Sheldon. She was born 26 July 1772 and married Uriah Hayden 2nd on 4 November 1792. Hayden died in 1801, and Ely married the Reverend Aaron Hovey on 9 September 1802. Hovey was the minister at the Second Ecclesiastical Society of Saybrook.

Ely had five children from her first marriage to Uriah Hayden 2nd: Electa Hayden (1793-1802), Prudence Amelia Hayden (1795-1880), William Sheldon Hayden (1797-1861), Charles Uriah Hayden (1799-1840), and Louise Cecelia Hayden (1801-1841).

Ely had four children from her second marriage to the Reverend Aaron Hovey: Aaron Ely Hovey (b. 1805), George Freeman Hovey (1807-1817), Richard Ely Hovey (b. 1813), and Henry Russell (1816-1871).
