Paul V. Galvin and his brother, Joseph, incorporated the Galvin Manufacturing Corporation, Motorola's founding company, in Chicago, Illinois, on 25 September 1928. In 1947, Galvin Manufacturing Corporation became Motorola, Inc. The company makes a wide range of telecommunications equipment.
