Joseph Ives

Joseph Ives (1782-1862) began making wood tall clocks in 1810, but by 1817 had become interested in the development and production of brass-movement clocks. Ives used rolling pinions in his wood and brass clocks. He worked in a number of different companies and partnerships in Bristol, Brooklyn, New York, Plainville, Farmington.
