Stephen Walkley Jr.

Stephen Walkley, Jr., was born in South End, Southington, Connecticut, on 27 June 1832. He was the youngest child of Olive Newell Walkley (d. 1858) and Stephen Walkley (1782-1866). He had seven siblings. He was educated at the Sally Lewis Academy in Southington. He became the official historian of the Civil War's Seventh Regiment of Connecticut Volunteers, in which he served.
