Lathrop-Royce Shop Tradition

The Lathrop-Royce shop tradition consists of related members of the Lathrop and Royce families of Wallingford: Samuel Royce (d. 1711), Nathaniel Royce (d. 1706), John Lathrop (1645-1688), Isaac Royce (1688-1729), Samuel Lathrop (1670-1746), John Lathrop (1680-1753?), Joash Royce (b. 1716). These men were joiners and turners. The Lathrop-Royce shop tradition included the apprentices who worked in their shops.
