William Conner

Willam Conner was born in Cheshire, Connecticut on11 July 1790, the son of Elnathan and Abagail Conner. In 1815 he married to Rebecca Porter, daughter of Solomon and Rebecca (Dodd) Porter. Conner succeeded his father-in-law as City Clerk of Hartford, serving until about 1840. He also served as Surveyor of Customs. During much of his career he was agent for the New York life Insurance and Trust Company and Secretary of the Protection Insurance Company. He died 24 December 1870.
