James Bidwell Hosmer

James Bidwell Hosmer was born 27 September 1781. He was the son of Anne Bidwell Hosmer (1759-1834) and James Hosmer (1751-1837). He had one brother, Charles Hosmer (1785-1871), and one sister, Anne Hosmer (Mrs. Lorenzo Bull) (1789-1857). For many years he was a dry goods merchant in Hartford, retiring in 1833.Hosmer was President and Treasurer of The Connecticut Historical Society.James B. Hosmer died in September 1879.
