Fannie Abigail Tibbals

Fannie Abigail Tibbals was born in Milford, Connecticut 13 February 1854. She was the daughter of George Lemuel Tibbals (11 January 1818-6 December 1882; her father was the son of Sally Baldwin and Lemuel Tibbals. He was a farmer who married Mary Ann Hurlbut 12 October 1842 (she died 14 December 1882 age 68). Fannie graduated from New Britain Normal School (Central Connecticut State University) in 1874 and taught school in Milford. Fannie married Henry Dwight Simonds (born October 1850) in Milford on 9 September 1884. She and her husband were both teachers, and they moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut, where Henry eventually became principal of Bridgeport High School.
