Frances FeltonAmerican, 1905 - 1976

Frances Felton was born in 1905 in Alsen, New York. She attended the Pratt Institute in New York then worked out of a studio in Mt. Vernon, New York. During World War II, when metal was in short supply, she was trained on how to use a metal lathe. Felton worked during the war in a small machine shop in Winsted, Connecticut. After 1947, when metal was again available, she worked out of a studio in Winsted and started teaching courses at Eastern Connecticut College in Willimantic. She died in 1976.
