Ebenezer Tracy Jr.American, 1780 - 1822

Ebenezer Tracy, Jr. was born in 1780, the second son of Ebenezer Tracy (1744-1803), noted Windsor chairmaker in Norwich, Connecticut. Like his father, and several other members of the Tracy family, Ebenezer Tracy, Jr., was a chairmaker. He likely worked as a journeyman in his father's shop after comleting his apprenticeship in 1801. He never married, and he lived with his family his whole life. After Ebenezer Tracy, Sr., died in 1803, Ebenezer, Jr., probably became a journeyman to his cousin Stephen Tracy. After Stephen and his wife moved to New Hampshire, Ebenezer Tracy, Jr., sold his share of the family land to Joel Hyde on 1 January 1801 and moved in with his sister Lydia and her husband, Amos Denison Allen, in South Windham, Connecticut. Ebenezer Tracy, Jr. died at Windham on 19 June 1822, at age forty two. He is buried in Windham Center cemetery.
