William G. DudleyAmerican, 1877 - 1934

William G. Dudley was born in Newport, Vermont, the son of Joseph L. and Emma S. Dudley. By 1899, he was established as a commercial photographer in Hartford, Connecticut. His studio was located in the Sage Allen Building. He specialized in group photography and took many pictures of school groups and of the Connecticut State Legislature. Some of his photographs appeared in the Hartford Courant and for a time he was the local photographer for the New York Times. He and his wife Gertrude lived in Wethersfield, Connecticut. Dudley died in October 1934.
