Elmer M. WhiteAmerican, 1858 - 1944

Elmer M. White was born in Massachusetts about 1858. By the turn of the nineteenth century, he was employed by the Hartford and Wethersfield Street Rail Road. He was considered an authority on Hartford's early horse-drawn and trolley transportation. He was also an amateur photographer and a bicyclist, a member of the High Wheel Club. From 1914 to 1930 he worked for the railroad in Binghamton, New York. He returned to West Hartford in 1931 and died in 1944.
