Reverend Thomas Robbins became the first librarian of the Connecticut Historical Society on 16 September 1844. He was the grandson of Reverend Philemon Robbins (1709-1781) of Branford, Connecticut. He lived in the Abiel Wolcott house in East Windsor, Connecticut.
