John B. Russell Jr.

John B. Russell, Jr. was born in 1843, the son of a prominent stockbrocker in Hartford, Connecticut. Russell, Jr. was an amateur artist and made sketch type drawings for Harper's Weekly and Frank Leslie's Illustrated Magazine beginning in the early 1860s while still a teenager. In 1866 he married Lucy E. Gillette, they had three children, James L. Russell, Clare A. Russell, and John A. Russell. John B. Russell, Jr. died in 1903.
