Lydia C. RobinsonAmerican

Lydia C. Robinson was the daughter of Andrew Robinson of Scotland Parish (now the town of Scotland), Windham, Connecticut. Her father was the great great grandson of the Reverend John Robinson, pastor of the Pilgrim Congregation at Leyden, Holland, from whence part of them sailed to Plymouth on the Mayflour in 1620. Lydia C. Robinson was also a ninth generation descendant of Myles Standish on her mother's side.

Lydia's father Andrew Robinson built a home on the family farm in 1800. It remained the family home for four generations, and Lydia spent her life there. She married Jonathan W. Maine in Scotland on 28 November 1841.
