George H. Baker

George H. Baker was born 9 March 1827 at Boston or East Medway, Massachusetts. He studied at the National Academy in 1848, but in 1849 joined the gold rush to California, arriving in San Francisco in May 1849. He remained in California until his death in January 1906. A view of San Francisco by Baker was published by H. Mansfield in New Haven, Connecticut.
