Robert Pearsall Smith

Robert Pearsall Smith was the son of John Jay Smith, Librarian of the Library Company of Philadelphia and an author, editor, and publisher. R. F. Smith worked for a time with his father before establishing his own map publishing company. He was an early advocate of lithography and produced more than 150 maps and city plans.
