William E. Baker

William E. Baker was born in Montville, Connecticut on 21 October 1830. He grew up in Colchester and was educated at the academy there. He then moved to Hartford and went to work for the City Fire Insurance Company, later becoming its president. When that company failed following the great Chicago fire, he became an agent for the Home Insurance Company. He died in 1909.
